For Local Bands
If you’re in a band based in Fredericksburg or the surrounding counties and you’re interested in playing FAA, email us at booking(at)fredericksburgallages.com or fill out the form below. Please include attachments of your original music or links where your music is hosted (Spotify, Bandcamp, SoundCloud, etc.). Linking to videos is also fine and actually helpful.

FAA is dedicated to providing accessible live music for all ages by keeping door prices low. Our regular rate of $5 helps cover rent for the show space and give out-of-town bands that are on the road money for gas and food. For this to be feasible, we depend on local acts to work really hard alongside us to promote and get the word out about events so that FAA can continue doing what we’re doing.
When FAA’s Youth Action Council determines which local acts play and which do not play, they have to ask themselves the following questions:
1. Is this a band that already has a following in town? If they’re on a bill, will they draw, and If they played an FAA show in the past, did they work hard to promote the show and bring people in?
2. Is this a band that participates in FAA? Do they come to shows and support other local bands and the Fredericksburg music community?
3. Is this band’s content and presentation appropriate for an inclusive all-ages space (e.i. does not include racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, hateful, or violent tones, and has minimal explicit language and/or content)?
After receiving your email (or submission below), the members if the Youth Action Council will ask themselves these questions and decide whether or not to give you or your band a shot at a show. If you’re accepted, you will be added to a roster of bands that will be incorporated into future shows. Because we only typically have one or two shows per month and receive dozens of email inquiries, this process sometimes takes a while.
We’re open to booking any genre of music, but will consistently say “No” to bands with content that is sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, that try to overtly push a specific ideology or belief system on others, or that promote violence, hatred or destructive behavior.

For Touring Bands
If you’re touring through and looking to fill a hole in your schedule, there is about a 99% chance we can’t help you. But if that hole happens to be a Friday or Saturday night, you’re more than welcome to contact us and see if we have an opening.
That said, we often book out-of-town bands that are close enough to Frederickburg to play a “one off.” This includes bands from Richmond, Charlottesville, DC, Baltimore, etc. This is typically done by an invitation only. We decide which date is good for FAA to host a show and then we seek out bands to fill the bill. If you think your band falls into this category and you’re interested in playing an FAA show, send an email to our submissions coordinator at luke.pineda@fredericksburgallages.com
THE PROCESS
1. Send us an email (or fill out the booking form below) and include attachments of your original music or links where your music is hosted (Spotify, Bandcamp, Soundcloud, etc.). Linking us to videos is also fine and actually helpful.
2. After we receive your email, your band will be listened to and considered by our youth advisory council. The council will decide whether or not they think your band would go over well in front of the FAA crowd.
3. If it is decided that your band is a good match for FAA, your name will be added to a roster of bands that the FAA bookers will draw from when looking to fill a bill. Because we are only doing an average of two shows a month right now and because we receive dozens of inquiries a month, this process sometimes takes a long time.
